Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTA), on the other hand, function differently from standard visas. This is simply a digital permit that grants travellers an initial entry permission, but they have to get the actual visa from the immigration officer upon arrival.

The core differences between these two digital authorizations are that eVisa is simply the digital version of a traditional visa, while eTA is not a visa, rather, it’s just a digital permit to get the visa. An eTA comes with a strict time period to obtain the visa, and if any traveller is unable to reach their destination and get the visa, the eTA becomes invalid. In that case, travellers have to apply for another eTA to enter the country.

• Proof of Accommodation/Stay: Submit evidence of your planned accommodations. It can be hotel reservations, hostel bookings, or invitation letters from hosts. Authorities use this information to verify your travel purpose and financial preparation.
