Question 1

How long does processing take?

Accepted Answer

We offer three speeds for every supported nationality. Express delivers your eVisa in 3 working days, Priority in 5 working days, and Standard in 8 working days. Weekends and Singapore public holidays are excluded. Actual ICA approval can be faster.

Question 2

How much does the Singapore eVisa cost?

Accepted Answer

Singapore eVisa pricing depends on your nationality and processing speed. Assessment Level 2 nationalities start from USD $99 on Standard processing, and Assessment Level 1 (CIS region) nationalities start from USD $139. All prices are all-inclusive (Singapore government fee, our local-sponsor LOI fee, and our service fee) with no hidden currency conversion.

Question 3

How long is the Singapore eVisa valid?

Accepted Answer

The Singapore tourist eVisa is valid for 63 days from the date of issue. On each entry, ICA officers grant a length of stay of up to 29 days stamped in your passport. The visa tells you by when you must enter Singapore, the stamp tells you how long you can remain on that entry.

Question 4

What documents do I need?

Accepted Answer

A colour scan of your passport data page (valid at least 6 months beyond entry, with 1 to 2 blank pages), a recent 35 x 45 mm white-background passport photo taken within the last 3 months, your return or onward flight booking, and a confirmed hotel booking covering your stay. Applying through us removes the bank-statement and LOI requirements.

Question 5

Do I still need to submit the Singapore Arrival Card?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The SG Arrival Card is a separate electronic declaration every traveller must file within 3 days before arrival, including eVisa holders. It is a health and immigration declaration tied to your passport number, not a visa.

Question 6

Can I work in Singapore with this visa?

Accepted Answer

No. The Singapore eVisa is a tourist and short-visit visa only. It does not permit paid employment. For work in Singapore you would need a separate Work Permit, Employment Pass or S Pass sponsored by a Singapore employer.

Question 7

Which items are banned or restricted when entering Singapore?

Accepted Answer

Singapore has strict import rules. Vapes and e-cigarettes are illegal to bring in or use, chewing gum is heavily restricted, and drugs carry extremely severe penalties including the death penalty for trafficking. Duty-free allowances for alcohol are limited and there is no duty-free concession on cigarettes, so declare tobacco.

Question 8

What local laws and fines should visitors be aware of?

Accepted Answer

Singapore is famously orderly, and fines apply for things visitors might not expect, such as littering, jaywalking, eating or drinking on the MRT, and smoking outside designated areas. Vaping in public is penalised too. A little awareness keeps your trip smooth and fine-free.

Question 9

Is the eVisa multiple entry, and can I make day trips to Malaysia?

Accepted Answer

The Singapore eVisa is commonly issued as multiple entry, which is ideal if you plan to cross the causeway to Johor Bahru in Malaysia and return. Confirm your visa type, and remember Malaysia has its own entry requirements, so check both sides before you travel.

Question 10

When is the best time to visit Singapore?

Accepted Answer

Singapore is warm, humid, and tropical year-round, so there's no bad time weather-wise, though February to April tends to be slightly drier. The wetter monsoon months bring short, heavy downpours. Many visitors time trips around events like the Formula 1 night race or festive light-ups.

Question 11

What currency does Singapore use, and should I carry cash?

Accepted Answer

The currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD). Cards, contactless payments, and mobile payments are accepted almost everywhere, so you can travel largely cashless. Keep a little cash for hawker centers, small stalls, and older shops. Note: Brunei dollars are accepted at par, but that's rarely relevant to tourists.

Question 12

Is the tap water safe in Singapore, and do I need vaccinations?

Accepted Answer

Tap water is clean and safe to drink straight from the tap, one of the perks of visiting. No vaccinations are mandatory for most travelers, though routine ones should be current. Use mosquito repellent, as dengue occurs, and the heat means staying hydrated is the main daily concern.

Question 13

How do I get around Singapore, and will English be enough?

Accepted Answer

The MRT metro and buses are efficient, cheap, and cover the city thoroughly, with a stored-value or contactless card making travel easy. Taxis and ride apps like Grab are plentiful. English is an official language and is universally used, so getting around and communicating is effortless.

Question 14

Can I get a local SIM or eSIM to stay connected?

Accepted Answer

Yes, easily. Tourist SIM cards from Singtel, StarHub, and M1 are sold at Changi Airport and convenience stores with your passport, and eSIMs are a convenient alternative. Coverage is excellent, and free public Wi-Fi is widely available across the city.

Question 15

Is Singapore expensive, and how can I keep costs down?

Accepted Answer

Singapore is one of Asia's pricier cities, especially for alcohol, hotels, and taxis. You can travel well on a budget by eating at hawker centers where excellent meals cost a few dollars, using the efficient MRT instead of cabs, and enjoying free attractions like Gardens by the Bay's outdoor gardens and the light shows.

Question 16

Is tipping expected in Singapore?

Accepted Answer

Not really. Tipping is not part of the culture, and many restaurants already add a ten percent service charge plus GST to the bill. You're not expected to tip taxi drivers or hawker stalls, though rounding up or leaving small change for good service is always welcome.

Question 17

I have a long layover at Changi. Can I leave the airport and explore?

Accepted Answer

If you hold a valid Singapore entry visa and meet the conditions, you can clear immigration and head into the city during a long layover. Changi also offers free guided city tours for eligible transit passengers, plus plenty to do inside the airport itself, from gardens to the Jewel waterfall.

Question 18

What's the food scene like, and can I find halal or vegetarian options?

Accepted Answer

Food is a highlight, from Michelin-starred restaurants to legendary hawker centres serving Chinese, Malay, and Indian dishes. Halal food is widely available and clearly labelled, and vegetarian and Indian vegetarian options are easy to find, making Singapore one of the most dietary-friendly destinations in Asia.

Question 19

What should I pack and wear for Singapore?

Accepted Answer

Pack light, breathable clothing for the hot, humid climate, along with an umbrella or light rain jacket for sudden showers. Casual dress is fine most places, but bring something modest that covers shoulders and knees for temples and mosques, and a light layer for strong indoor air-conditioning.
