What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the site, your browser sends these files back, which helps the Service work correctly, keeps you signed in, and remembers choices you have made such as your language or nationality. The table below lists every cookie and similar technology the eVisas website uses, grouped by purpose. Essential cookies are set by eVisas, and the ones that hold sign-in tokens are stored as secure, httpOnly cookies that cannot be read by scripts in your browser.

Why we use them

We use cookies for three purposes, and nothing more. Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. They sign you in, keep your session active, renew it securely, protect passkey sign-in, and allow you to begin an application as a guest before you create an account. Because these cookies are necessary for core features and security, they cannot be turned off without breaking the Service. If you block them, you will not be able to sign in or complete an application. Functional cookies improve your experience by remembering choices you make, such as your selected or auto-detected nationality, your language preference, and when your session needs to be refreshed. They are not strictly required, but turning them off means the site will not remember these preferences and you may need to set them again. Optional analytics help us understand, in aggregate and anonymous terms, how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for this purpose only. These tools are loaded only if we have enabled analytics, which is currently off by default. When enabled, they collect aggregate usage data and do not identify you personally. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, we do not allow third parties to use cookies on our site for advertising, and we do not sell your data to advertisers.

Managing your cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block cookies from specific sites, delete cookies that are already stored, or warn you before a cookie is set. To do this, look in your browser's privacy or settings menu, or use its help function. Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service, because these cookies are required for authentication and security. Blocking functional cookies will mean the site no longer remembers your preferences. Because we do not use advertising or marketing cookies, there is nothing to opt out of for advertising. If we enable optional analytics in the future, you will still be able to block analytics cookies through your browser. Our mobile app does not use cookies at all. Instead, it keeps your sign-in tokens in your device's secure storage, which is managed through your device and app settings rather than your browser.
