The answer is yes; every traveler, including children and infants, needs a separate eVisa to enter India. They also need separate passports with at least six (6) months of validity.

A transit visa is not required if a foreigner has an onward flight ticket and does not leave the airport terminal. If a foreigner travels via ship, if he/she does not leave the ship, then a transit visa is not required.
