Visa Requirements for Moroccan Citizens
Moroccan citizens have several options when traveling abroad, including applying for a visa in person, using an eVisa, ETA, Visa on Arrival (VOA), or traveling visa-free to certain destinations.
Moroccans can apply for an eVisa or ETA to visit 39 countries, both of which can be applied online.
For 32 countries, a Visa on Arrival (VOA) is available. For destinations requiring sticker or stamped visas, Moroccan citizens must visit the country’s embassy or consulate. Some countries may allow you to schedule an appointment online before going to the embassy or consulate, depending on their specific regulations.
Regarding general requirements, Moroccan nationals need a passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the date they plan to enter the country, whether traveling with a visa or not.
If a Moroccan citizen holds a Schengen visa with multiple entries, they can enter three (3) countries without needing a separate visa.
With a passport ranking 61st globally, Moroccan passport holders can travel to 35 countries visa-free.
Since visa requirements vary by country, it’s always a good idea to check the specific requirements for your destination before starting the application process.
Countries Offering eVisa and ETA to Moroccans
An eVisa is a digital visa that can be applied online without visiting the embassy or consulate of the destination country. You can store it on your smartphone or print it out to show at the airport.
An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a travel permit that lets you enter a country without applying for a visa before your trip. Once you arrive, you can get your visa directly from immigration authorities.
Like an eVisa, an ETA can be applied for online and will be sent to your email. While an eVisa allows you to travel at any time, an ETA is time-sensitive. You must go to the country’s immigration within the specified timeframe to get your visa.
If the time limit for the ETA expires, it becomes invalid, and you’ll need to apply for a new one.
