Some countries still require a visa, so it’s important to check the entry rules before making travel plans.

Pour 55 pays, Swiss citizens can apply for an eVisa and an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). You can do both applications en ligne, and it doesn’t take much time.

Also, 13 pays offer a Visa à l'arrivée (VOA). This means Swiss travelers can get their visa when they arrive at the airport or border. A few destinations require a traditional visa. And travelers must apply in person à la ambassade ou consulat of that country. Some embassies also allow travelers to book appointments online.

No matter where they travel, Swiss citizens must have a passeport en cours de validité avec au moins six (6) months of remaining validity from the date they enter the country.

Countries Offering eVisa and ETA to Swiss

Un eVisa is an online visa that you can apply for without visiting the embassy or consulate of the destination country. After your application is approved, you can download it to your phone or print it out to show at the airport when you travel.

Un ETA (autorisation électronique de voyage) is a type of travel permit that allows you to enter a country without applying for a regular visa before your trip. When you arrive, you can get your visa from immigration officers.

You can also apply for an ETA online, just like an eVisa, and it will be sent to your email. The main difference is that an ETA is only valid for a specific period of time. You must travel within that time to get your visa.

If your ETA expires before you travel, it will no longer be valid. So you will need to apply for a new one.
