Un eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is also a digital travel permit that lets you enter a country without applying in advance. The approval is also sent to your email, and you can present it upon arrival. 

An eTA is valid for a limited time. You need to enter the destination country within that period. If your eTA expires before your trip, you will need to apply for a new one.
