Visa Requirements for Romanian Citizens
When traveling internationally, Romanian citizens need different types of entry permits depending on the country. These options include applying for a visa in person, eVisa, eTA, Visa on Arrival (VOA), or, in some cases, they can enter sem visto.
Romanian citizens are eligible to submit online applications for an eVisa ou eTA to a total of 54 países.
Romanian citizens can get a Visto à chegada para 22 countries. For countries that require a sticker or stamped visa, the applicant must apply in person at the embassy or consulate. Some embassies also allow you to book an appointment online before visiting.
In all cases, Romanian travelers must hold a valid passport with at least six (6) months of validity from the date they enter the destination country. The Romanian passport is ranked 6th globally, and allows its holders visa-free entry to 112 countries.
Since Romania is in the União Europeia, a few countries apply additional travel rules for Romanian citizens.
Visa rules are not the same everywhere, so make sure to review the entry requirements of your destination before starting your application.

Countries Offering eVisa and ETA to Romania
Um eVisa allows travelers to apply and receive visa approval entirely online. You don’t need to go to an embassy or consulate to get it. Just apply online, and once approved, you’ll get it by email. You can either save it on your phone or print it out and show it when you arrive at the airport.
An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a quick pre-travel pass. It allows you to visit a country without getting a visa in advance. You can apply for the ETA, and once you arrive, you can get your actual visa from immigration at the airport or border.
Um ETA can be applied for online in the same way as an eVisa, and the approval is sent directly to your email. With an eVisa, you can travel at any time during its valid period, but an A ETA tem um calendário específico. You must enter the destination country within that period for it to remain valid.
If you don’t travel within the allowed time on your ETA, it expires. That means you’ll need to apply for a new one before you can travel.
