Yes, you can apply for an eTA if you are of dual nationality. Apply using the passport you’ll travel with. Check if your passport is eligible for an eTA before you apply.

An eTA covers short business trips. It can be used for both business and tourism.

If your passport expires before your eTA, the eTA becomes invalid as it’s linked to your passport. You’ll need a new passport and a new eTA. If your eTA expires before your passport, you can’t extend it. Instead, you’ll need to apply for a new eTA, which is quick and easy.

A Canadian eTA is valid for five years. To get the entire eTA period and avoid reapplying, we recommend submitting a passport with at least five years of remaining validity.
