For most of Asia, Africa and the Gulf the visa is now a quick online eVisa or eTA, which we handle for you. Tip: a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence unlocks easier entry to several more. Keep your passport valid 6+ months.

Read the travel policy details for Indians
India is a member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). Indians enjoy freedom of movement with Nepal and Bhutan (a passport or even a Voter ID is enough), a free visa on arrival in the Maldives, and a free eTA for Sri Lanka. Thailand and Malaysia are visa-free for now too.
A practical tip: a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit unlocks easier entry to several more countries - a visa on arrival in the UAE and Oman, the tourist route into Saudi Arabia, and the online e-Visa for Turkey. India has no visa-waiver with Europe or North America, so those remain embassy visas arranged in advance.
Rules can shift between reading this and flying. These official government pages are the best place to confirm passport rules and travel requirements before you book.

“The Russia e-Visa process looked complicated online, but a real person answered my questions and submitted everything correctly. Approved with no fuss.”
Around 55 destinations are open to Indians without arranging a visa first - some fully visa-free, the rest as a visa on arrival or a free eTA. They cluster in South and Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, Africa and the Caribbean: think Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. For most of Europe, the Americas and the Gulf you will still need a visa, though many are now a simple online eVisa.
