Visa Requirements for Dutch Citizens
Dutch citizens can travel internationally in different ways. Depending on the rules, they can apply online for eVisas and eTAs in 55 countries. They can also get a Visa on Arrival in 10 destinations after landing.
If a country requires a sticker or stamped visa, Dutch applicants must visit that country’s embassy or consulate. Some embassies also let travelers book an appointment online before their visit.
The Netherlands passport is ranked 3rd in the world, and its holders can visit 117 countries without a visa. Before traveling, Dutch citizens should make sure their passport is valid for at least six (6) months from the date they plan to enter another country.
As a member of the European Union (EU), some Dutch officials and dignitaries can travel easily under the Visa Exemption Scheme.
Since visa rules are different in each country, it’s best to check the entry requirements before traveling to your destination.

Countries Offering eVisa and ETA to the Dutch
The eVisa is a digital visa that is issued online. You can apply for the visa without visiting the embassy or consulate of the destination country. The approved eVisa will be sent to you directly via email. You can either show a digital copy or a printed copy at the airport.
An eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is also a digital travel permit that lets you enter a country without applying in advance. The approval is also sent to your email, and you can present it upon arrival.
An eTA is valid for a limited time. You need to enter the destination country within that period. If your eTA expires before your trip, you will need to apply for a new one.
