Visa Requirements for Turkmen Citizens

Turkmen citizens can travel to other destinations by using different types of entry permissions. These include applying online for an eVisa or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), getting a Visa on Arrival (VOA), or visiting a foreign embassy or consulate for a regular visa.

At present, Turkmen citizens can travel visa-free to 11 countries. They can also apply online for an eVisa or ETA to visit 65 countries, and get a Visa on Arrival in 18 countries.

If a regular visa is needed, travelers must visit the embassy or consulate of the destination country. In some cases, appointments can be booked online before visiting.

To enter any foreign country, a Turkmen passport must be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival.

The Turkmen passport ranks 76th in the world, giving its holders moderate travel freedom. Because visa rules are not the same everywhere, it is always best to check the visa requirements before making travel plans.

Countries Offering eVisa and ETA to Turkmen

An eVisa is an online visa. You can apply for it on the internet without going to the embassy or consulate of the country you want to visit. After it is approved, the eVisa is sent to your email. You can keep it on your phone or print it out and show it at the airport when you travel.

An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) can also be applied online. It lets you enter the country without getting a visa before your trip. When you arrive, you can get your visa from the immigration officers at the airport.

Both the eVisa and ETA are sent to your email after you apply. The main difference is that an ETA is only valid for a short time. You must travel to the country within that time limit to get your visa. If the time has passed, your ETA will not work anymore, and you will need to apply again.
